My Story
The economy collapsed. My partner lost her full-time, great-paying job with benefits. We were sitting at the kitchen table, trying to figure out how long our savings would last us once her severance ran out. I was nursing our three-month-old son and holding back tears.
I hadn’t gone back to my job after I’d given birth. The original plan was that I was going to stay at home and raise our child, but I knew that needed to change. I had to find a way to contribute.
So I started researching jobs I could do from home. Long story short, I picked up part-time gigs, worked freelance, filled contract positions in my field of expertise (human resources), and built an ecommerce site for dropshipping. Before I knew it, not only was I contributing to our family’s finances, my passive and active income had overtaken my partner’s full-time salary. She jumped in with both feet to help me manage everything, and now we both get to stay home with our little boy and watch him grow!
My story may not be a common one, but it is entirely possible, and I want to share it with anyone it might help!
